Celebrated wedding photographer Andrew Holman is popular because of his Sedona Wedding Photography. Sedona is the name because his photo shoots are done in Sedona, Arizona, which is home of the beautiful red rock formations. These rock formations appear to glow in orange and red when the rising or setting sun hits it with light. Before Holman became one of the most well-known wedding photographers in United States due to his Sedona photography, he first had various stints such as photojournalist of a newspaper in Colorado.

Holman is not originally from Sedona or any city of Arizona. He just moved there in 2002 after having worked in a number of cities which includes Denver, New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. Andrew Holman is originally from Denver, Colorado where he honed his photography skills. When Holman was in Denver, he was more known as an all-around photographer working as a portrait photographer and as a photojournalist.

Andrew Holman obtained his degree in Commercial Photography from then Colorado Institute of Art (now The Art Institute of Colorado). Right after graduating from this private college for arts and crafts, Holman had his focus in fine art portraiture which enabled him to be an expert in this type of photography. Holman had a number of traveling fine art exhibitions in the Denver which helped him gain wide popularity not just in the city but also in the entire state. One of his most notable photo exhibits was the “Portraits of a Community” series. This fine art exhibit of Holman gained city-wide attention as well as commendation due to its theme of profiling different characters in the Queen City of the West or in Denver.

Holman then decided to have his focus in a more conventional form of photography which is photojournalism. He accepted the position of photojournalist which was offered by Vail, Colorado-based Vail Trail Newspaper. His contract was for five years and his years there focused more on various community activities. His works were mainly from sports action to editorial features. Due to his great work in Vail Trail, Holman’s photographs were carried by publications such as The Village Voice, People Magazine, Ski Magazine, Mother Jones Magazine, and the Gamma-Liazon Photo Agency of New York. He even had commercial clients which include Oxygen Snowboards, Atomic Ski Company, Milka Chocolate, Vail Associates, and Boardriders Club of Vail. He also covered the 1999 Ski World Championships held in Vail.

Available light, in photographic terms, is defined as existing light in a scene other than outdoor sun light. This article will discuss the three main reasons why professional photographers often prefer to use available light.

Some common examples of available light might include that which comes from a household lamp, sun light streaming through a window or a fireplace fire. Here’s what makes these conditions so desirable for taking beautiful images.

In order to capture a great picture of some one, they must be at ease. Professional models are probably not bothered by hot lights glaring all around. But the average person might become self-conscious and tense up in these conditions. By using available light, your subject will feel more relaxed and at ease. If you allow your subject to forget the camera, you will get a better candid portrait that truly shows their personality.

Photographs taken using available light tend to impart a sense of reality. These images also can convey a specific mood that cannot be achieved using studio lighting techniques. Your photos can give the viewer the sensation of darkness and melancholy or emphasize brightness and excitement. Observe the light around you now. You can train your eye to recognize different moods of available light and capture them in a way for all to enjoy.

Lastly, available light photographs are easier in many respects for the photographer. There are no heavy lights and stands to carry, no electronic flash to wait for. The photographer is free to move about trying different positions or angles. A tripod can be used but this is typically not recommended by many professionals. They simply feel an inexperienced subject will become stiff and unnatural.

So next time your behind the lens, try turning off the flash and give the available light an opportunity to shine in your prize photos. Just one word of note, because available light tends to be dim as compared to sun light or studio lights, be sure to pay special attention to your exposure.

A digital photo frame can show pictures without having to use a computer or printer. The photos can also be displayed by the photo frame on a television set.

Features

Selected digital photo frames only allow JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) pictures to be shown. It is common that the digital photo frames use a slideshow format to display the photos. The slideshow’s picture-changing intervals can be adjusted according to the user’s discretion. It is also within the capabilities of digital photo frames to share photos with printers. This establishes the digital photo frame as a multi-purpose multimedia device that has solid and reliable computing relationships with other common forms of multimedia.

Despite the JPEG exclusivity of some digital photo frames, there are some that support other forms of multimedia such as movie clips from digital cameras, MPEGs (Movie Pictures Experts Group), and MP3s.

Special digital photo frames have the ability to receive and load pictures from Internet sources such as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds, e-mail, and photo-sharing sites like Flickr and Picasa. These special models can normally support wireless (802.11) connections, as well.

These developments have resulted in enhanced utility for the product, and this in turn, has increased the multimedia popularity of the digital photo frame. It is now used not only to display photos, but also to convey an experience.

There also exist digital photo frames that are compatible with .txt files.

Digital photo frames usually just need a camera’s memory card in order to start displaying photos, but some versions also have internal storage space for the picture files. The digital photo frames with built-in memory usually accept files from USB connections, but these versions are rare due to the poor affordability of built-in memory.

There are also digital photo frames on the market that contain a rechargeable battery in the package.

The common 7 Digital Photo Frame (17.5cm) models show photos at 430 x 234 pixels, while some models stretch every landscape photo to reach an aspect ratio of 16:9 and thereby cause noticeable photo distortion. The 8 Digital Photo Frame is also a very popular frame to buy.

Implementation

A digital photo frame is made up of the LCD-panel, the PCB, and the outside frame. The LCD-panel uses either a digital or analog interface and does not have a set size. Meanwhile, the PCB contains the software of the digital photo frame and is thus considered the “heart” of the device.

Security Issues

There are certain digital photo frames made in China that have been found to contain Trojan Horses in their respective firmwares.

Mocmex, which is the given name of the Trojan Horse according to Computer Associates, can recognize and block detection from several security vendor softwares, as well as default security and firewall mechanisms available in Microsoft Windows.

What Mocmex does is it downloads certain files and hides them in the CPU by giving them random names. This operation can only be stopped by programs that have been especially made to effectively remove the Trojan Horse from the PC.

Moments are the most precious thing a person can have. Although they cannot be relived physically, they can be relived emotionally. These moments can be shared with other people as well, but something is needed to show others the picture you have in mind. Photography came into existence to make this possible, and photo frames enable us to share the photos we have taken.

In almost every home, people have photographs on display. Showing families, friends and events, these photos are more than just for decoration but to capture at least a part of people’s lives. Weather in albums or photo frames, photographs are an important part of what we are.

With modern technology, taking photographs and putting them on display has become much easier than ever before. You do not even have to worry if you have a camera when you want to take a picture. All you need to do is to have your cell phone with you and every moment is ready to be captured. Then, there is the process of transferring the photo to a computer and printing it. However, digital photo frames have simplified this too.

Now, with digital photo frames, it is not necessary to even print the photographs to put them on display. Rather than connecting the phone to your computer, you can connect it to a digital photo frame and transfer the pictures to it. The photo frame can sit anywhere and keep showing your various photographs like a slide show. Hence, you are able to relive as many moments as possible with much greater ease and speed. Since digital picture frames can be set almost anywhere, they allow you to share the most beautiful moments of your life in photos easily and have a much greater impact with your photos than was ever possible before.

While traditional photo frames look good, they do not have these kinds of features. You would have to print the photos and then fix them into the frame individually and clearly cannot enjoy them in the quantity as digital frames permit. There are drawbacks to digital frames though. The main one being they require a power source. Depending on the frame, they either need to be near an electrical outlet for power or will require periodic battery charging.

With their extra features and functions, modern picture frames allow people to enjoy pictures in ways that were not possible in the past. As the technology continues to improve, they are likely to add more and more features and offer people even more options when displaying their photos.

A relatively new concept in the world of digital photography is the digital photo frame. The digital photo frame or the DPF is the digital equivalent of the time honoured photo frame, except that it has plenty of advantages over the regular photo frame.

A DPF is a simple TFT or LCD screen which has a certain amount of internal memory in the form of a memory card or hard disk. It effectively acts a digital repository of your photos, with the added advantage of being able to display these photos as well. The amount of photos which can be stored depends on the size of the internal memory and the size of the photos.

These DPF’s run on electricity or batteries, but mostly they can be plugged into a power socket. The modern Digital frames are just slightly bigger and heavier than the traditional frames and they come in various sizes and budgets. These frames solve a lot of problems faced

Many older people are not comfortable with using digital photography, because they might have problems using the computer. Alternatively many people may find the task of storing, organising and viewing photos on computers very difficult. These people will find the features of the digital photo frames very effective.

As I mentioned before it is possible to store anywhere from 30 to a thousand photos on a digital frame, so effectively it can serve as a photo album. Moreover the interface of all these digital frames is very easy and elegant. This way you can kind of flip though the photos, similar to a paper based album.

They have another advantage. You must have noticed that the photos in traditional frames tend to lose their sheen over the years, and they become dull and lack lustre with passage of time. This is because the photo is made out of paper and paper ages with time leading to spoiling of the photo. However with a digital photo frame, this problem gets eliminated. Since these frames store photos in a digital format, they remain good for eternity unless something happens to the frame itself.

However there are a few disadvantages to using a DPF. The first disadvantage being the high initial outlay; even a very basic model is likely to cost around $200 and everyone may not be willing to invest so much initially, but the quality of photos, its storage, and durability make the price worth it.

The second one is a problem which is common to all digital devices. The memory card or hard disk can get corrupted and all your photos could be lost. Therefore always keep a back up of your photos, somewhere away from your regular computer (This advice applies everywhere; always keep a back up of all your digital data).

With the increasing popularity of these digital frames, these are likely to become more common and useful photography accessory.

The different lenses allow for different photo shooting capabilities.

Ever since 1888, when George Eastman found a way to make photography “as convenient as the pencil,” we have depended on our cameras to record the people and events in our lives.

The invention of the digital camera heralded the advent of the “digital age” for photography. Recording and storing our memories digitally has now become “as convenient as the pencil!” Today, almost everyone, young and old, tech-savvy or not, possesses and can use a digital camera without first having to master the finer aspects of photography.

With the proliferation of the cell phone in today’s world, we now have a plethora of mobile phones that can also take acceptable photos. In addition, those photos can now be sent wirelessly from one phone to another and to computers, social networking sites and photo sharing sites as well.

Because taking digital photos is so easy, we tend to take hundreds and hundreds of them. Before the digital camera, our pictures had to be printed out and this could be expensive. Even though we didn’t take as many photos, we still had to painstakingly store the ones we did have printed in albums or boxes to protect them. Today’s digital technology enables us to store endless numbers of photos in our cameras, on our computers, or on memory cards and flash drives.

The introduction of the digital photo frame at the beginning of the 21st century began the transformation of pictures viewed one at a time in static traditional photo frames to those viewed in controlled dynamic slideshows. Photo sharing took on a new life!

The digital photo frame of today ranges from simple photo viewing to those that can play music and videos to wireless ones that can connect to the Internet and retrieve photos and information in many different ways.

A digital frame frees up space on computer hard drives. Photos can easily be transferred from cameras and computers to frames. Or memory cards and flash drives, loaded with photos, can be inserted. And there is magic in a digital frame! It is sheer joy to sit down in front of a digital frame and watch a dynamic slideshow of the times in your life you really want to remember and savor.

Our lives are meant to be recorded and those precious moments are even more meaningful when shared with others. No matter how we share our lives, perhaps through the magic of digital frames, perhaps through the Internet via photo sharing sites or social media sites does not really matter. All people need to connect with others in order to lead happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. Anything that brings people together and connects them with others is important for the well-being of all.

Digital Photography is now a common method of taking pictures using digital technology. This is being used by most people nowadays because it is more convenient, easy and fast. This technology uses memory card or SD card to save all the photos taken. You can then upload the photos immediately to your computer and have it printed. The process has become as quick as that nowadays. Technology has given more ease and convenience to people everywhere. However, even if it is tapped with technology, errors still come out. Even the best technologies around are not perfect. And these digital photos might also be deleted in some few instances. These gadgets or technologies are very sensitive and one single incorrect move can affect them in a big way just like when the photos become lost or deleted. One way that might get your photos be deleted or become inaccessible is when your memory card is corrupted.

It is very frustrating if the photos you have taken from a very important event or occasion are deleted simply because of corrupted memory card. Photos carry the memories of a special event or occasion in a person’s life. At this point, you might be losing all of the photos and it is the worst situation to be in. So, it is important for all of us to have safety and precautions of digital media devices that we are using.

You can have Digital Photo Recovery software always ready to ensure that you will not lose a single photo from your camera. Digital camera photo recovery software is an application program that helps recover photos that have been lost or deleted from the camera or memory card. It is our best solution for photo recovery and image recovery especially if the memory card gets corrupted or deleted. There is different software for photo recovery that you can choose from. You can choose which is applicable to the camera that you are using. Most of them are compatible with several kinds or brands of camera. Having this software will assure you fast deleted photo recovery.

Aside from having a photo recovery software ready, you can also use some preventive measures to avoid having your memory card from getting corrupted. Keep in mind that these high-tech gadgets are sensitive and need extra care and handling. It is always safe to have a back up copy of all your photos in your computer or to an external disk. Also do not expose the camera or memory card to extreme temperature. Make sure that it is in a safe place always. And make sure that you follow the instruction manual when using them.

The article given here was written for Adobe Photoshop 5,6,7,CS, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 and 3.

Most photographers who are serious about improving their portrait taking skills have realized that a beautiful background can greatly enhance their photographs.

Muslins are a very popular choice among professionals. However, they can get very costly at several hundred dollars each. For the professional who is well established, this may not seem too much, but for the hobbyist, this may be a stretch.

A less costly alternative is a digital background. With a digital background, one can get the look and feel of a professional looking portrait without the additional cost of muslin.

Many Photography websites also sell digital backgrounds on cd. In some cases…as low as $15.00 dollars for an assorted collection. As with anything else…you usually get what you pay for. Some of these pre-made digital backgrounds are not worth the cd they’re printed on, but some of them are very beautifully made. Even so, you may be wondering how YOU can make your very own digital background. That being said, the following information will help guide you along the way.

Okay, let’s create a digital backdrop using Adobe Elements 2.0. We will create an 8×10 300dpi (dpi = dots per inch or ppi = pixels per inch) digital backdrop. For printing purposes, 300dpi is strongly recommended for a high quality print. This will also create a large file approximately 20.6megs.

Having a fast processor (Pentium 4 or Athlon XP) and at least 256megs of ram will definitely help. Also having your screen resolution on your monitor set to its highest setting 24 or 32bit will give the best results.

Okay let’s begin! If you haven’t already opened Photoshop Elements, do so now.

You may ask yourself what a professional looking photo looks like. It really depends on the composition of the photo and the lighting that the photographer chooses to take the photo. Amateur photos often suffer from bad lighting. They are often too dark when taken inside a building and often too bright when the sun shines outside during summer season.

A photo must meet a number of criteria before it can be considered professional looking.

Composition

Many people think that the subject of the photo is best put right in the center of the photo. Nothing is further from the truth. There are two hints that can help you to improve the composition of your photos tremendously.

The Fibonacci spiral

Without going into a complex theory. The Fibonacci spiral is a phenomenon that appears in nature and it looks pleasant to the human eye. This spiral is the result of a mathematical sequence. If one divides two consecutive numbers in the sequence, the result equals the Golden Ratio, being 1.618 on average.

A very close approximation of the Golden Ratio is the rule of thirds. You simply divide the frame of the photo in virtual thirds with vertical and horizontal lines and you put the subject on one of the intersections.

The above mentioned tips will help you compose your photos easier for better results.

Lighting

The second criterion, lighting, is also very important to make your photos look better. Depending on the location and the amount of light available the photographer must set the camera so that it uses the optimal shutter speed and aperture. The shutter speed is the amount of time that the light-sensitive device of the camera is exposed to a certain amount of light, determined by the aperture of the lens.

To make sure that the colors on the photo look natural the camera must be set to the appropriate white balance setting. The light color outside depends on what time of the day the photo is being taken, because the sun causes different light colors during the course of a day. It is also possible to observe the subject during several hours of the day to determine the desired light color.

For most photos the automatic settings will do for both aperture and white balance.

Sharpness of the image

Most digital photo cameras have an auto focus feature built-in. Using this feature will not always result in sharp photos. One of the main reasons is that some people do not always know how to keep the camera stable while pressing the shutter release button.

Stability can be improved by not using the LCD screen on the back of the camera to take the photo. A better idea is to use the viewfinder of the camera and to hold the camera closer to the face and pressing the elbows against the body while pressing the shutter release button. This is especially necessary in bad lighting conditions.

After reading this article you may realize that taking quality photos does not necessarily depend upon the camera used, but rather on how the photographer uses the camera.
